We have created a new section dedicated to campaigning work during the current crisis including resources and information to help you raise issues and concerns. You can find our key concerns and asks in the letters we sent to Central government and London Councils. We want to make sure:
Disabled people who use social care continue getting the support they need
Disabled people have enough money to live on
Disabled people’s lives are protected and we have equal access to medical treatment
Access and equality are not sacrificed during this emergency period.
Here you will find the latest updates about our campaigning activity and resources to help you raise issues and concerns including a template letter about PPE and a letter for DDPOs to send to their Local Authority. You can also follow us on Twitter for all our latest campaign updates.
In this section we have brought together Information and resources for DDPOs which we hope you will find useful during this challenging time. This includes information on:
Emergency funding - including Phase 2 of the London Community Response grant just announced
In this section we have brought together information specifically for DDPOs delivering advice services during the current crisis. This includes general Covid-19 information as well as information on key specific issues such as Welfare Benefits, Social Care, Human Rights, Hate Crime, Housing and Where to Find Legal Advice.
We have also launched a new online package of training and advice for DDPOs to support you during this time. This includes:
Monthly webinars on selected topics – the first on 19 May is on Home Working and furlough.
121 Business and Organisational Advice to help you with funding applications and any other business support you need.
Where possible we are also moving all our support online including our training and peer networking forums. This includes the Care Act Training on 14 May which will now take place via Zoom. Check our Training and Events pages for the most recent updates.
