Newham Council is offering two training programmes to be delivering via Zoom in April. You can email Commissioning.Assistant@newham.gov.uk to register your interest. The Council’s aim is to raise awareness of death, dying and bereavement – and provide the tools to support faith leaders.
1. Advanced Planning (delivered by Compassion In Dying) - this session will cover Advance Statement, Advance Decision (Living Will), Lasting Power of Attorney, Deputyship, Organ Donation. This will be a fact based session on these documents - their purpose and what areas they cover and how to complete them (high level). April 7th 2021.
2. Bereavement (delivered by MIND Tower Hamlets and Newham) - this session will cover the different stages of bereavement and how to cope (particularly
during Covid-19 when usual mechanisms such as exercising, socialising, working, etc. are not readily available); financial support available and form-filling services, the MIND service and other national – more specific services that are available. April TBC
